Lost at sea

After speaking with many people experiencing homelessness, I heard many stories of loss. Loss of parents, loss of children, loss of love. Depression only adds to the challenges of homelessness. According to the American Psychological Association, risk of depression is almost double for people experiencing homelessness than for the general population. A black dog is commonly used as a metaphor for depression.
